YouTube is a great place to share your videos with the world. However, if you’re not careful, your videos can end up in the wrong hands. To protect your videos from being shared without your permission, you can use a few simple techniques to clear your YouTube cache.

  1. Clear Your Cache The first step is to clear your cache. This will help you to remember where you last left off and prevent other people from seeing what you’ve been up to since last time. To do this, open up Google Chrome and click on the three lines in the top left corner of the screen. From here, select “History: Clear Cache.” Once this has been done, reload your page and try sharing a video again. If everything goes well, you should see that all of your cached videos have been cleared out!
  2. Disable Background Downloads If you’re not comfortable with third-party software like Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Dreamweaver disabling background downloads for certain websites or applications, then you can disable them for YouTube as well. To do this, open up Google Chrome and click on the three lines in the top left corner of the screen. From here, select “Settings: Show advanced settings.” Under “Background Downloads,” select “Never allow background downloads.” This will prevent any background downloads from happening while you’re watching a video!

Clearing YouTube’s cache helps fix issues with the platform’s app and website and lets you watch your favorite videos uninterrupted. We’ll show you how to do that on your Android phone and your desktop web browser.

Deleting the YouTube cache doesn’t remove your personal data with the platform. The process only removes YouTube’s temporary files, which it internally uses to enhance your experience.

Note that you can only clear the YouTube app’s cache on Android; the iPhone doesn’t allow deleting the app cache.
